Since Monday morning, 7 August, gunfire has been heard in the perimeters of Makala central prison in Selembao commune and Ndjili commune (Kinshasa).

According to testimonies gathered on the spot, the police called in reinforcements fired to disperse a group of demonstrators carrying red bands around their heads passing in front of the central prison of Makala.



The inhabitants, panicked, are at home. In Ndjili, not far from the parish of St. Teresa, the witnesses evacuated two wounded by bullet. They indicate that the police fired into the air to disperse young people who claimed Bundu Dia Mayala from Ne Muanda Nsemi. The same sources indicate that activities are timidly resuming.
